WTCO – International Travel Pack Activation Guide
Heading overseas? WTCO International Travel Packs make it easy to stay connected without the bill shock. Here’s how to activate your pack and use your service overseas.

Available Travel Packs
- 3 Day Pack – 300 minutes of calls, 300 SMS, 3GB data
- 7 Day Pack – 30 minutes of calls, 30 SMS, 5GB data
- 14 Day Pack – 60 minutes of calls, 60 SMS, 10GB data
- Packs can be overlapped to provide seamless coverage for longer trips.
Before You Go
- Check that International Roaming is enabled on your WTCO mobile service.
- Call us on 1300 765 985 before you leave to confirm.
- Know the SMS activation code – send ROAM to 179.
When You Arrive Overseas
- Land in your destination country.
- You’ll receive a welcome SMS inviting you to activate your pack.
- Activate your pack: send ROAM to 179.
- You’ll receive a confirmation SMS – once confirmed, you can start using your service.
Renewing or Topping Up
- Packs last for their set duration (3, 7, or 14 days).
- To continue after your pack ends (or when you reach 95% usage), send ROAM to 179 to start a new one.
- Packs don’t auto-renew – you’re in control.
Notifications You’ll Receive
- Welcome Message – received when you first connect to a roaming network.
- Pack Activated – confirms your IR pack is active and includes expiry details.
- Usage Alerts – 50%, 85%, 95%, and 100% used (you can add a new pack at 95%).
- Error – Invalid Code – you’ll be told if the entered code is incorrect.
- Error – Activation Unsuccessful – you’ll be notified if recharge fails.
Check balance & expiry: SMS BAL to 179 (information can be up to 48 hours old).
Important Notes
- You can only add a new pack when your existing pack has expired or you’ve used 95% of your data allowance.
- Packs aren’t available in non-roaming or PAYG-only countries.
- If you receive a new opt-in SMS while a pack is still active, don’t reply – opting in twice may cause double charges.
